Dark Castra Raid Guide v2

Dark Castra Raid

Mission Objective:
  • 120 Minutes Timer. ( you will need about 20-35 minutes max)
  • Kill 22 Specific Dustdeaths
  • Push 6 buttons
  • Watch out for Traps.
  • Defeat Dark Castra inside the Death Chamber.

Raid Summary:
Dark Castra Raid is consider for Lv50-69. However, it's recommended for Lv55+. Most important is that all members of the raidteams have good darkresist, 60%+ will save you a lot of pots and prevents dieing!. Today most raidteams have lot of strong Light-sp players, making the traps in this raid not to bad, some teamwork is required. The raid got several traps, and most teams just take most traps and kill spawning monsters.
This guide is make to survive DC raids, some of the tactics and tips are not needed for strong/fast teams. If you've done this raid 5+ times, you won't need this guide, and know what/where to expect, for first-time raiders, this guide for sure can help you to know what to expect.

General Rule for this raid:
  • Recommend Lv55+
  • Set 1 person to be designated button presser, esp 6th button cannot be pulled in advance!.
Team/sin can decide to time buttons, or pull tehm all (but 6th) in advance.
  • Most teams got 1-2 people doing luring, strong lvl's or strong swordies are best for this job. Crusaders and WildKeepers can kill most mobs using their AOE's
  • Don't be a hero. Even with a strong light card and weak monsters; monsters come in large numbers, and will do big damage if they all target you.
  • Buffs help a lot. Keep holybuffs on at all time, they give you the extra darkresist and lightpower you need. Saderbuffs will make the raid go easier.

Your roles as:
  • - Swordie: Crusaders do great damage on mobs and have buffs. Warriors can voke mobs and do great lures.
  • - Mage: Holymages are responsible for making sure Holy Weapon and Blessed shield is on all team members. Your heal should always focus on the person luring or the tanker using provoke. Also keep an eye on HP of low lvl WK's, due to their AOE's they take a lot of damage. Holy Hammer when necessary; best time to do so is when a Warrior had just provoked. If the leader is taking damage, priority healing before aid in attacking. Leader must stay healthy at all times possible. One strong mage can choose to use normal-mage, and lightshield/Aura the team.
  • - Archer: Wildkeepers are the best AOE'ers in this team. The raid contains a lot of weaker mobs, and a group of WK can make this raid go fast. Keep an eye on your HP, don't be a hero.
One Assassin: can pull butons. Some teams choose to pull buttons only after team has passed them, preventing the team to have to kill all mobs. Most teams however pull most levers in advance of team, and just kill whatever will spawn. For 6-the button it's important to not pull untill the team has passed. Dustkings spawning there are really strong, and most likely will kill teammembers!!

Team Setup:
  • Minimium 3 Mages
  • Minimum 2 WK's
  • 1 Assasin
  • Last 9 spots can be any capable player, light SP is highly recommended!

-=Raid Tactics|~
If you're hosting the raid, make sure every team member is well stocked and equipped. Ensure and remind your team members to bring enough snacks and pots!.
If you're joining someone's Dark Castra Raid, make sure you're well stock and fit for the raid. If you ain't got darkresist for this raid, you will die in bossroom and skrew your team. Once you have your team assembled, make sure all players are not AFK, and remind all that the raid is gonen take 20-30 minutes(or more). Make sure all players got that amounth of time!

Raidmap:
  • [
Red dot: Button that needs to be pulled Button number (used in this guide) is show in Yellow number
Green dot: Dustdeath that needs to be killed
Blue area: Monster spawn here on button
Red area: You will teleport here on button
    Red Square: portal to bossroom

  1. Advise your team to not move ahead of the 1st button (1). And teleport as group. You will end up in some monsters, but should be an easy kill for most raidteams. These days most team choose to clear this area of the raid completely, so if you miss this teleport it's a easy 'walk' back to the team. IMAGE

  2. Next you move to 2nd button(2). Teams got 2 options here, pull the button 'before' the group arrives or after. If the button is pulled before, you will have to kill one extra group of dustdeaths. People dieing in raid will have an easy walk to rejoin the group if
    IMAGE

  3. As the team continue to advance, the next path is a long hallway leading toward a right-path direction on the radar/mini-map. See: IMAGE
Raidteam have to be carefull as trapped monsters follow, see picture above. Next you will walk passed button (3). This one will teleport you. Most teams choose to let a sin pull it invis, as it teleports people near. The team will simply pass this button, while a sin/jaja pulls it invis and teleports directly to button(4). Button (4) can be pulled with no risk.

  4. The entire area around button (4)needs to be cleared of dustdeaths. Over here are many mobs, most are easy. A lil ahead are more trapped monsters. Most teams these days choose to just kill these monsters; be warned, each Skull killed summons a group of DustDeaths, which can easily spawn over 40 of them instantously. Especially if the team do area of effect attacks and kill them all in one go. So if the team insist on killing, do so of killing a few at a time.

The result of killing the trapped monsters:
    IMAGE

  5. After you killed the trapped monsters, you will soon arrive at the next button (5).
    IMAGE
Be carefull, some of the dustdeaths in this area WAY harder than the weak ones you killed before. Mobbign here might result in suicide

Pulling the button will spawn some mobs, nothtign you cannot handle...
    IMAGE

  6. Once the team clear through the Lv7X monsters, the first Dustking will appear. Kill it and the monsters in that area. Moving further on, the team will be facing Catsy. They're not much of a problem to handle, but just becareful of their area of effect debuffs that lowers dark resistant of not only just you, but people around you too. The Darksy Dame Sylviva are specially very nasty with their aoe debuff that technically "blackout" your character/team for a while.

  7. Eventually your team will run into the final last button(6). It is extremely important to not trigger this button until everyone is out of the area and must be done with invisible mode. Triggering the button will spawn multiple strong Dustkings that can noobify you and your entire team.

  8. Furthermore, there is this next area that the team must go through-- It is recommended to lure the monsters out of the way instead of confronting them. All these monsters are all traps.Image

Once that's out of the way and the team moves on. The last part are clearing out the 3 remaining DustDeaths that's protected by 6 Darksy Dame Sylvia, that once their HP are low, will spawn 10 Red-Hot Golem Each. Most teams will just clear this entire area, so they can simply regroup and rebuff before entering the bossroom. Be extra careful for the catsy's really annoying debuff. If they are able to keep chaining it on your team, you can be rendered hopeless as they can potentially permanently stun you, if they keep taking turn casting that debuff.

-=The Boss Room|~

The tactic is rather simple here to explain. Rebuff inside the Portal. Then move on up to disbatch 5 Translucent DustKings. Have the entire team gather by the Tomb. Remain there until Dark Castra shows up. It takes 3 minutes for him to come out.
When Dark Castra comes, just kill it. Most DC teams let the group go attack Castra, while 2-3 people are working on mobcontrols. WK's are usually best for this job as they got amazing AOE's, but also warriors can be really helpfull here. If a team can afford it, 1 mage is assigned to heal the mob-controllers. Obviously mages spam groupheal whenever they can, and some private healing won't hurt.

Bossroom reminders:
  • Holy Weapon, Bless Shield are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT *MUST* Buffs to have on. You will have a hard time without them. Castra will give a lot of dark-elemental damage, so if you die here, you probbaly have crap resist / are not wearign the right resist, and or not got holybuffs.
  • Holy Mages - You have a big role in here - Very important that you rebuff ASAP if a person dies. However, it takes that player a few seconds to revive. So don't buff instantly when the person hasn't even revive yet. If you die as a Holy Mage, move out of Dark Castra attacks and then rebuff yourself. If you can't rebuff yourself, let the team know so the other Holy Mage can rebuff you.
  • Dark Castra has a nasty Debuff call Despair. This debuff causes you to ALWAYS 100% take double damage from ALL ATTACKS. This debuff need to be remove ASAP. Cure priority on Despair. DO NOT WASTE It on removing blackout/stun. As Cure has a long CD (CoolDown) time. The best way to deal with this is TOP list Holy Mage cure first. Then following down the list, the 2nd Holy Mage Cure Despair if Castra does it again. Keep the rotation going to remove that debuff. Let the other Holy Mage know you've used your Cure. So they'll know they're next on the rotation.

When you kill the boss, get loots and pretty boxes... Hope you all had fun!
